As you may have noticed in the Staff News, Tom Glynn’s new book, Reading Publics: New York City’s Public Libraries, 1754-1911, has won three major awards:
- The Hornblower Award for a First Book from the 2015-2016 New York Society Library’s New York City Book Awards.
- The 2016 Herbert H. Lehman Prize for Distinguished Scholarship in New York history from the New York Academy of History
- Outstanding Academic Title by Choice (In their earlier review, they summed up the book as “Essential. All academic audiences; general readers.”)
His publisher, Fordham University Press, was kind enough to give us a review copy of his book for a giveaway.
